CAMBODIA MONEY AND CURRENCY
The unit is the riel. Riel denominations are 100,200 and 500. At the time of publication, the riel is fairly stabilized at approximately 2,500 reil per US$. Exchange rates are subject to fluctuation. US$ are generally accepted throughout the country. In Phnom Penh, some credit cards can be used and limited services are available for check cashing, and purchasing travelers cheques.
The official currency in Kampuchea is Riel with cuts from 100, with 10000 riels. However, in the cities, the American dollars are completely used just as Bath inhabitant of Thailand. The dirty or damaged tickets are refused and in the trade, to preferably use small cuts because of the exchange. Because of the economic problems of the area, the exchange passed to 3900 riels by a dollar. The international currencies can be exchanged openly and freely.
